3 Strong Reasons Why You Should Travel With Your Family

It is not easy and it’s dangerous! That is what most people tell me whenever I bring my kids to travel. Well, they are correct.

Every day living of a working mom is never an easy track. What more when you travel with them? But whoever you are, wherever you are, whatever you do in life, travel will be the best gift you can give to yourself and your family.

Traveling is the best gift you can every give to your self and your loved ones. Why? Like education, it is something no one can steal from you.

With everything on your fingertips, traveling with family now becomes more affordable. Choices of destinations became limitless.

I personally experienced the benefits of travelling with my little kids. I can count thousands of reasons why you should also. But I will focus on the key reasons why you should pack-up your bag and head to that road less travel destinations with them.

Let us go deeper and find within you why you should start travelling with your family

1. To experience positive exposure to different cultures

People will say, “your kids are too young to be traveling”. Some will say, “they will not remember these thing.” Apparently, they will.

When my kids and I went to Boracay, Philippines, we met some locals in the island. Particularly the restaurant staffs having their break during lazy afternoon at the beach.

The locals are very helpful with my kids and they teach them how to take good care of the fish and the beach.

When we went back home, my kids will tell me. “Mommy, beach should be clean.”

Giving your kids opportunity to travel with you teaches them valuable lessons at early stage. Trust me, they never forget it.

2. To teach kids how to adapt in the environment

We have experienced traveling after typhoon season. In the Philippines, some of the areas need to be restored after a severe typhoon.

When we traveled to Boracay on Christmas Season, our flight to Caticlan was cancelled and Kalibo Airport was shut down due to typhoon.

To materialize our trip, we re-booked our flight from Manila to Bacolod and traveled thru a boat from Bacolod to Iloilo, and experienced a rough 5-hour land trip from Iloilo to Caticlan.

I have my two kids traveling with me. With environment we had during those times, I was really surprised how my kids were able to adapt on a fun way.

They never complained. They will only ask me if they are hungry. With this training, as early as young age, they we able to learn how to adapt on the changes and on the environment they are at.

3. To create an everlasting bond you will never forget

My married colleagues and friends have interesting answers when asked what was their best moments together.

Was it their Wedding Day? No. Was it the Marriage Proposal day? No. Was it the time they bought new car? No. It was during Honeymoon. Yes, that was the time they traveled together and made love as new couple.

Whenever you ask your kids what was the best time they had so far. Was it when you gave them expensive toys last Christmas or their birthday? No. Was it when you throw a birthday party for them? No. The answers were when you spend time with them traveling.

Your kids remember how cool the fish are in the lake. They remember how fun it was to slide on the long and stiff pool slide. It was when they visited parks and ride airplane with you.

That is why, this is the most important reason why you should travel with your family.

You are busy and has crazy schedule. Most of the time, we felt like it’s very hard to take some time to spend with your family.

With traveling, families can create everlasting bond. Trust me, it will stay with you as long as you can remember.

My Takeaways

  1. At least once a year, go some place you have never been before with your family. Time is too short not to be on different places with them.
  2. Children’s development are boosted during the early stage. Traveling is one of the best development you can give them.
  3. The world is a book and those who do not travel read only a page. We would rather slip and bookmark the middle of the book than to be stuck at table of contents.
